Here at the Wildlife Associates’ Wildlife Sanctuary, we care for over 50 kinds of amazing wild animals. Many of them visit thousands of children throughout Northern California every year through our Wildlife Assembly Programs. All of these animals are non-releasable, which means they cannot survive without our help and care.

The Adopt-an-Animal program is a great way to help support the lives of these Wild Teachers, and makes a unique gift for family and friends.

As a thank-you gift, you will receive a special certificate featuring the animal you have chosen to help, as well as other awesome gifts (see below).

Your family’s contribution is tax-deductible. Although all the animals stay here at the Wildlife Sanctuary, adopting can provide your family with the satisfaction of lending a helping hand to wildlife and educating children in kindness and empathy toward all of life.

Each animal has a favorite way to play. Aztec the cougar loves to chase Boomer balls around, and Kibu the wolf always seeks out new chew-toys (Wolves’ jaws can exert 1,500 pounds of pressure per square inch!). Your donation will help us buy toys for the animals!

In thanks for your support, you will receive a beautiful Adoption Certificate specific to your adopted animal, which you can fill out and print with your name on it! You’ll also be able to link to a special fact sheet full of cool facts about your animal.

Animals sure can eat a lot. Check out these surprising food facts:

  • One red-tailed hawk eats over 1,800 mice each year.
  • Our animals eat 2.5 TONS of meat, 2,600 pounds of sweet potatoes, 14,000 mice, 2,000 rats, 1,300 pounds of fruit, 600 pounds of dried kibble and 400 heads of lettuce every year!!
  • It takes one person up to six hours every day to prepare the special diets for our animals.

Your adoption helps our Wildlife Team to provide food for your animal. In addition to a certificate and links to cool facts, you will receive exciting updates and stories about your animal.

The health and well-being of the animals at our Sanctuary is of vital importance. Many of these animals come to us with serious injuries that prevent them from returning to the wild. With fifty animals to care for, veterinary check-ups are ongoing and essential. Your support helps keep these amazing Wildlife Ambassadors healthy!

In addition to the gifts above, you’ll also receive an exclusive downloadable photo and a special birthday email from your adopted animal.

The animals here the Wildlife Sanctuary love to go for walks with the animal Keepers. Adopting at this level helps us in our development of a special play and exercise area for the animals.

As a token of our thanks, you will receive all of the above gifts. . . plus the satisfaction that comes from helping  to support the well-being of these amazing Wild Teachers.

Help us build a new den box for an animal (Porcupines never stop chewing, and we have three different kinds!). Den boxes are essential spaces that protect the animals from the wind, rain, and sun; plus, the animals really enjoy just hanging out on top of them!

In addition to the gifts listed above, receive one free admission to one of our unique Family Wildlife Days events.

Support the building of a mues (habitat) for our raptors. Your contribution can help us develop an outdoor aviary for the flighted birds residing at our wildlife sanctuary, and continue our habitat enrichment program for non-flighted raptors, which includes the building of roosting boxes, perches, wind-breaks, and other essential habitat features.

In appreciation of your gift, you will receive all of the above, plus complimentary admission for your entire family to a Family Wildlife Day, as well as a special behind-the-scenes visit to the Wildlife Associates Wildlife Sanctuary with a keeper who cares for your adopted animal. (details available)
