About the Animals

These amazing animals are cared for at the Wildlife Associates Wildlife Sanctuary, located on the coast of Northern California. Each of them has a special story of how they came to be at the Sanctuary. All are non-releasable, which means that they cannot survive without our care.

Some were rescued from serious injuries that left them incapable of caring for themselves. Others were illegally raised in captivity and given to the Sanctuary for care by various authorities; such animals lack the ability to care for themselves and require our help.

These amazing animals are now living ambassadors from the animal kingdom, reaching hundreds of thousands of people every year with lessons from the wild. These animals and their stories help us to kindle compassion for all life and remember our connection with the rest of the natural world.
